DOT started with one guy, a pair of Crocs, and an idea at little a driving range in Indiana. Our founder had just graduated from Indiana University, where he studied music. In the summer of 2024, as he prepared for a full-time job in Nashville, he spent as much time as he could with buddies at the golf course — soaking in the last few rounds before his crew headed off to start jobs of their own. It was on one of those nights while hitting balls on the range, he overheard a conversation that changed everything.

A few spots over, two guys were reminiscing on a golf trip they had just returned home from. One asked the other if he ended up getting a headcover he had liked in the pro shop. He laughed and said, “Nope — too expensive. And if I bring home another, my wife’s tossing it.” Then came the joke that stuck: “Too bad you can’t just wear them all.”

What if you could?

As he packed his clubs in the trunk, he reached to replace his cleats for the beat-up Crocs in the trunk — it clicked. It was then, that the idea for DOT was born.

He spent the next year in his parents’ basement, tinkering with used leather tools from eBay and sewing by hand. From there, the company quickly became more than just a way to save golfers money on headcovers. We still proudly make our gear in the heart of Indiana, in the first shop that took a chance on us.
